Reforestation

Across People For Wildlife’s landscapes, there are areas of habitat loss due to human activities, erosion, and rising sea levels.

PFW is working to rehabilitate and replant these areas.

Together with local Custodians we are:
  • Building native plant nurseries to grow saplings for replanting activities.
  • Rehabilitating soil to combat compaction and promote seedling growth.
  • Planting rainforest seedlings to regrow areas of tropical rainforest cut down for cattle production.
  • Planting in and adjacent to waterways to minimise soil erosion into important waterbodies (e.g., the Great Barrier Reef)
  • Planting trees to stabilise eroded sand dunes along coastlines.
