Community Engagement

Successful conservation action begins with engaging people.
All of People For Wildlife’s work is underpinned by meaningful engagement with community, traditional custodians, landowners, ecologists, planners, government, and other stakeholders. We know that creating positive change requires collective buy in and ownership, and we engage people in many ways.

We provide training and capacity building for local ranger and community groups to conduct and manage grass-roots conservation action.
Facilitating community development and socioeconomic upliftment directly through construction of much-needed infrastructure (e.g., solar arrays, bores for fresh water etc.)

Directly bridging the gaps between traditional knowledge and western science by facilitating visits of community members to the Reserves we manage for camps, ceremonies, and other cross-cultural information-sharing activities.
Liaising with community leadership groups to develop and drive positive conservation outcomes.
Offering volunteer opportunities where people can take part in our research and conservation work
