Wetland Recovery
Wetlands cover approximately 6% of the earth’s land surface but sequester 35% of the world’s carbon. People For Wildlife undertakes actions to protect important wetlands and minimise degradation. Intact wetlands promote healthy levels of biodiversity within these ecosystems.
What are we doing?

Fencing important areas of wetland to prevent damage from invasive species and ensure protection of wetland flora.

Undertaking targeted ground and aerial control programs for invasive species, to minimise wetland degradation and associated carbon release.

Using satellite imagery, camera traps, and acoustic recorder arrays to monitor the impact of management on wetland degradation of biodiversity health over time.
