Ecology of tropical snakes

Cape York is a hotspot for snakes, with many different species occurring across People For Wildlife landscapes. The People For Wildlife team is studying the ecology of several snake species.

We are examining population sizes and demographics, and investigating habitat use of several elapid, colubrid, and python species

We also documented island dwarfism in Australia’s largest species of snake, Simalia amethistina on an island off the coast of Apudthama
